0G Labs

Taking decentralized AI from crypto-native to mainstream credibility
0g labs case study

Situation

When 0G Labs partnered with Genius PR in February 2026, the hard part was already done. Mainnet was live, verifiable compute was running, and 0G had shipped an on-chain identity standard for AI agents while much of the category was still publishing whitepapers.

The problem was that almost no one outside crypto could tell. “AI agents” had become one of the most overused phrases in tech, the crypto-AI space was crowded with speculative tokens, and 0G itself had five competing ways of describing what it was. If the market filed 0G alongside the hype, the product would never get the hearing it deserved.

Task

Genius PR was engaged to take 0G from a project known mainly inside crypto to a name trusted by mainstream business, finance and technology media.

The campaign focused on four primary objectives:

  1. Position 0G as real, live infrastructure rather than another AI token story.
  2. Break out of crypto media and into tier-one business, finance and tech publications.
  3. Build co-founder Michael Heinrich into a go-to voice on AI infrastructure, verifiable compute and trust in AI.
  4. Turn every placement into lasting search authority and visibility.

Action

Genius PR spent the first weeks inside the product, the roadmap and the founders’ thinking before pitching a single journalist. The campaign then ran five workstreams in parallel.

Building a Clear Narrative

Through a full onboarding and strategy deep-dive with the founding and marketing teams, Genius PR cut five competing labels down to one clear ladder: a primary line for the market, a product term for builders and a bigger vision for thought leadership. Messaging was staged so that proof led and vision followed, mapped against a tiered list of crypto and mainstream outlets.

Positioning the Founder

Michael Heinrich’s angle was built around one idea: trust in AI has to be built into the system, not promised in a policy. Every quote, op-ed and interview pulled back to that idea, including a bylined op-ed in CCN on the concentration of AI ownership.

Newsjacking the AI News Cycle

Whenever AI, security or markets made headlines, Genius PR put Michael in the story. This earned commentary in Decrypt, DL News, IEEE Spectrum, Investing.com, Yahoo Tech, BeInCrypto, The Street and Entrepreneur.

Running an Announcement Engine

Genius PR wrote, sequenced and distributed every major 0G launch, pairing wire distribution for search footprint with direct pitching for editorial pickup. This covered the consumer AI development platform, the Alibaba Cloud partnership bringing Qwen models on-chain, the Bond announcement and the 0G Private Computer launch.

Expanding to Features, Podcasts and Stages

The campaign extended into long-form features, including Forbes Digital Assets and BeInCrypto, and appearances on The Rollup, On the Margin and Cointelegraph’s Chain Reaction, alongside a stage appearance at Capital Summit.

Tracking Search Authority

Every placement doubled as an authority signal. Through a shared coverage tracker, weekly intelligence reports and monthly tracking of domain rating, backlinks and share of voice against competitors such as Bittensor and NEAR, every result tied back to visibility and search authority.

In under six months, 0G went from a crypto-native project to a name quoted across mainstream business, finance and technology media.

Impact

0G’s campaign shows how a deep-tech company can earn mainstream credibility in a category crowded with hype.

Instead of competing on louder announcements, Genius PR gave 0G a single clear narrative, a founder with a distinct point of view and a repeatable launch playbook. Leading with live proof before the bigger vision allowed business and tech editors to see 0G as real infrastructure rather than another token story.

The result was more than press coverage. In under six months, 0G built a founder voice that editors keep coming back to, a launch engine it can reuse for every future announcement, and search authority that continues to compound.
